Overview:
Pumas captures the workflow of a typical stockbroker operation, integrating
the various processes into a cohesive whole. Instructions are captured,
executed to generate a Contract Note, and Payment Receipts created on
payment of these Contract Notes. Advanced Commission configurations can
be set up, Bond Interest is properly calculated, taking into account Ex-cum
dates. High quality reports, such as the Portfolio Evaluation Report,
are generated by the system. The Portfolio Evaluation Report, for example,
can combine various currencies to produce a net wealth balance. Client
Database: A powerful database structure allows client information
to be captured through either a single form or an advanced fact-find application
spanning several forms. Joint account information can be captured. In
addition, for any particular financial-details item, no limit is placed
on the number of items that can be captured. Commission
Tables: Commission tables can be created and associated with any security.
Commissions can handle different Tax for buy and sell, minimum fees, transaction
fees and multi-tier commission rates. Bank Accounts: Any number of Bank Accounts can be set up in the system, including multiple currencies. Automatic checks prevent money from being posted in error to an account with a different currency. On the other hand, transfer between accounts in different currencies is also supported. Bank Account Statements are automatically generated by the system. Instructions/Contract
Notes: Instructions are captured in the system and Instruction Receipts
generated. Pending instructions, securities in portfolio, securities under
pledge are all considered when creating an instruction. Instructions are
then executed to automatically generate Contract Notes. On generation
of Contract Notes, portfolios are updated, pending payments recorded and
money owing to exchange calculated, commissions earned, taxes, interest
etc all calculated and updated accordingly. Auditing/Client
Payments: Money paid in by clients is recorded against outstanding
Contract Notes. Money deposited on account is also allowed. Money paid
out to a client is also recorded. A Payment Receipt is automatically generated.
Reports such as Bank Statements, Payment Statements etc are available. Portfolio
Evaluation Report: For a given report period, clients opting to receive
a report are selected. A report for each client can then be generated.
This report presents a multi currency evaluation with a net wealth balance
in a predefined reference currency. Purchases and Sales summaries for
period are also included in the report. Bond Interest
Payout: For a given bond, the system will generate a list of clients
due for a Bond Interest Payout. Letters and cheques can then be automatically
printed. Other Additions: Collective investment schemes will be supported in the near future. STRENGTHS OF THE UNDERLYING TECHNOLOGIES: Platform Independence: The system can run on both Unix and W2K servers using either SQL2000 or Oracle databases. On the client side, the system runs through a browser and is available on all platforms whether they are PC, Mac or Unix Machines. Open Standards: Pumas is based on open standard technology giving our clients the best choice of cost and performance. Thin Client Technology: Client machines do not need to be upgraded to more powerful hardware, as is often the case. The full power of Pumas is available on client machines even with basic hardware resources. Multilingual Support: Pumas can generate reports such as Contract Notes, Portfolio Evaluation, and Receipts in any language, including non-Latin character sets. Low Cost of Ownership: Updates done on the server are immediately propagated to all clients. The ease of maintenance drastically lowers the cost of ownership. Geographic Locations: The system can be accessed over wide area networks, all served through the same server, with minimum bandwidth requirements. Security: Full 128-bit encryption from end to end. Back end data can be encrypted within the database. In transit data can be encrypted using 128-bit SSL. Long shelf life: Pumas is based on the very latest object oriented technology. In today's fast moving world, companies risk investing in software systems which are already legacy. Pumas is designed to meet today's and tomorrow's business challenges. |
